Regional Office of Silesia in Brussels was founded on 1st July 2002. The office represents local regional authorities in Brussels according to an agreement with the Silesian Union of Municipalities and Districts. The Board of Silesian Voivodship is a direct supervisor of the office, while the Silesian Voivodship Marshall is a supervisor of the Director of the office.

Regional Office of Silesia in Brussels is in contact with Silesian Association of Municipalities and Districts concerning Silesian Districts and Municipalities projects in EU programmes controlled by European Commission.
The office lobbies for Silesian Region and its partners. It organizes numerous promotional events in Brussels of Silesian Voivodship tradition, history, culture and economy.
Among others for inauguration of its functioning the Office organized in cooperation with Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the European Union in Brussels a seminar on structural funds absorption on regional level.
Also the Office is included in “Open Days” Programme of European Commission and Committee of Regions and takes part in open days of European Union Institutions.
